This release will be remastered from the original tapes.
Andre Simon Anderson, the talented multi-instrumentalist from Minneapolis, Minnesota, the world would know as “Andre Cymone” {Simon, Cymone .... get it ?), came into his own on this impressive debut solo album. “Livin’ In The New Wave”, originally released on Columbia Records in 1982, the music industry and music lovers worldwide got to hear what Andre is truly capable of doing musically, outside of his past working experience with his childhood friend, Prince, and that is sheer musical brilliance.
Aside from Andre’s uncanny resemblance to his “Royal Purple Badness”, he too, displayed extraordinary prowess and depth across a myriad of instruments. The first of three solo albums Dre recorded for Columbia (between 1982 and 1985), “Livin’ In The New Wave”, he covered the music spectrum of New Wave, Funk, Punk, and Rock N’ Roll. Let’s check out some of the highlights of an exceptional debut album from one of the originators of a sound that would contribute immensely to the then burgeoning, “Minneapolis Sound”.
